We work on a wide range of listed properties and heritage sites including
people’s homes, commercial properties, churches, public buildings and National Trust Properties.
Our specialist skills include gilding, brush graining, lime wash and Lincrusta,
together with a knowledge of the history and chemistry of paint we can create a
historically accurate match for your building.

Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology, Cambridge

We were appointed appointed to paint the whole external facade.

Part of the works was to gild the main clock tower and weather vain in loose and transfer gold leaf.

Trinity Hall, Cambridge

Giuseppe Piran were asked to redecorate the 15/16th century dining hall for Trinity Hall.

Fo this project we were using Farrow and Ball paints, alongside looseleaf gold for the exetensive part of this project.

Balsham Church, Cambridge

This church near Cambridge is Grade 1 listed with parts dating back to the 13th Century. Our task was to paint the Nave ceiling and involved working closely with church authorities and the local planning office to agree the approach taken, and type and colour of paint to ensure historical authenticity. The work was carried out around the life of the church community, avoiding busy periods, such as Sunday and mid-week services, and ensuring the building was safe, tidy and  clean throughout.

“I inspected the work carried out by Giuseppe Piran Limited at Balsham Parish Church in March 2008, and was most impressed with their work, not only in its execution, but by the professional care they took in the preparation of surfaces to be decorated, and the careful selection and matching of the pigments.”

Peter Foster OBE (Surveyor Emeritus of Westminster Abbey)
